The People Behind The Idea
Tank Kit was founded in 2022, out of Toronto Ontario by Ryerson Ted Rogers School Of Management student, Callum Roy Barron with some inspiration from his Mother, Father, and cottage located on Halliburton Island, ON.
The problem was encountered in the process of sourcing parts to build a stock tank hot tub during the summer of 2020 when we noticed that an unnecessary amount of time, and energy, was being exerted in the search to find individual components to create a working hot tub.
The concept of retrofitting industrial stock tanks; typically used to feed livestock in the farming industry, has become an increasingly popular alternative to traditional hot tubs, and pools over the last 5 years for do-it-yourselfers, people living off-the-grid, and those not wanting to spend an exuberant amount of money on family fun.
In our case, It was partially out of necessity that the idea of building a stock tank hot tub was pursued; our cottage is remote, and without mainland electricity and hydro utilities so couldn't even use a traditional hot tub or pool if we wanted to. This got us started in our search for the next best alternative; A stock tank DIY hot tub build-it kit for the next generation of campers, cottage-goers, and ambitious adventurers.
